    Cast Earth Star
Cope Residence (c) 2004 Elliot Johnson, AIA                                 Cast in-place Star

This residence is the second "Cast Earth" home built in Austin.  The 20" thick earthen walls make this house ideal for our hot climate.  Three cupolas act as thermal chimneys for the family room, and bedrooms.  Cast Earth utilizes local materials in combination with Gypsum to create a permanent earthen home.  This home is not yet rated, but it is anticipated that it will be 5 star City of Austin Green Building project.
